Photos Day Six

Gary's cabin site with tent for the men--

the "women" got the cabin bunks! Isn't that special!

Tour de Creek Day Six

Tour de Creek
Day Six
Roy, Larry and I went fishing,
up by Granite Creek,
We caught lots of Chum salmon,
Hoping for a Silver salmon streak.
We did omelets in a bag,
for breakfast with some toast,
Some took a nap,
Some went to Leon's,
His log cabin is the most!
Karen and Dotty played horseshoes,
one point if it's in the pit,
They threw and threw,
Karen got a ringer,
then they finally quit!
Gary and Roy built a coat hanger,
sliding rollers made old drawers, new!
Lars and I painted window trim,
in the color blue.
Roy cooked up brats and burgers,
Potatoe salad and beans,
a little wine,
a lot of food,
Alaskan joy instead of dreams.
We fly out of here tommorow,
We would like to stay some more,
The Lord has put a limit
on our fun,
We pray we come back for sure.
I thank Gary, Gail and our crew,
for memories beyond compare,
I challenge anyone to match,
the fun that we've had here!

Tour de Creek Day Five

Roy Lillo passing on the Lillo 60th jug to Gary Lillo

Tour de Creek Day Five

We said goodbye
to Todd today,
he is a great nephew,
a wonderful guy.

Chan, Andy, John and Kevin,
left in the next plane,
They would all love to do,
this float trip again.

Dave and I played horseshoes,
against Jim and Roy,
We each won a game,
What a wonderful day.

The gals flew in,
On a Beaver airplane,
They said the trip was fine,
they could do it again!

Gary and Gail prepared,
a great birthday feast,
It was fit for a King,
To say the least!

Filet mignon and crab legs,
adorned our plates,
some wine and then potatoes,
that were twice baked.

A magnum of wine,
was enjoyed by all,
several toasts to the
birthday boy were told.

Roy passed the Lillo 60th jug,
to brother, Gary
for a little while it
got --kinda teary!

This tradition lives on,
in the Lillo family,
This celebration was the best,
I've been privileged to see.

May God bless you, Gary,
in your 60th year,
May God grant that one day,
We may return again, here.

Tour de Creek Day Four-Part Four

We got to play horseshoes,
Bet five dollars a game,
Jim and I won ten dollars,
Several ringers were made.
Leon brought Scotch
that was fiveteen years old,
following that many funny
stories were told!
We all are so blessed,
at this time in our lives,
I thank Gary and look forward
to seeing our wives!
(Four of our wives flew in the next day)

Gary's Cabin-Day Four

Tour de Creek Day Four-Part Three

We rowed and we motored,

for nearly 10 hours,

We finally towed other rafts,

With our motors.

We reached Gary's log cabin,

What a beautiful site,

Neath' Sleeping Lady Mountain,

It's time for Bud Light!

Hey, where's that yellow shirt

When you need him??

I've dreamed of this trip

for nearly a year,

What a joy, what a blessing,

I am sure glad, I'm here!

Tour de Creek Day Four-Part Two
Larry caught his first king,
David Jr. caught a few,
What a thrill for these young lads,
An Alaskan dream trip come true.
This father is proud
of his only son,
To share this float trip,
What memorable fun.
Gary's sons, Todd and Chan,
were major fun on this trip,
the only improvement,
if sister Tasha had went.
She didn't come, but sent,
Andy her man,
All a wonderful gift,
for the birthday (Gary's 60th) man.

Tour de Creek Day Four

Tour de Creek Day Four
We broke camp at a quarter past nine,
We were twenty minutes out,
and a half hour behind (our raft)

We had kings in the camp,
Some in the Creek,
Northerns were in places,
where salmon did seek.

Gary had roster duties,
all neatly assigned,
my name showed up
many a time.
(point of fact-Gary let us ol' duffers off easy)

He assigned every task,
each and every day,
It worked on this float trip,
I'm here to say!

Brother Gary's 60th Birthday Float

We have waited
for many a week,
Twelve fisherman were now headed,
Down Alexander Creek.
Jim and Lars
were in my boat,
Caught twenty-five northerns
on this day's float.
Late into camp,
David Jr. had a king,
Todd made spaggetti,
we heard the dinner bell ring!

Lars filleted northerns,
Andy cooked us a feast,
The best northern pike,
I ever did eat!
Kevin was beer man,
yesterday,
A one fingered salute,
was all he could say!
Ufda!
More jokes tonight,
will surely be in store,
"No Ears", are what my nephews,
are praying for!
(dey complain a lot but ve know de like the yokes)

Tour de Creek Day Two

We awoke to a foggy morn,

Lars caught three fish before dawn,

Snoring reported from our tent,

Todd & Andy must have been the culprits!

Brother Dave got to dig the latrine,

Prettist hole you ever seen,

He didn't dig it very deep,

When we left it was a big heap!

(Mainly because this camp was so full of it!)

(not to be confused with Tour de France)
Day One

The yellow tee shirt
passed to Roy,
This was to be our,
Beer delivery guy!
It will pass to another,
as planned on Day two,
but no one will ever match,
Roy's touch delivering the brew!

It seems my niece Tasha thought we should have some class(like tour de France) on our float
trip by providing us with a yellow "Beer Deliver Guy" Shirt. Gary choose Roy for Day One service!

REX MACBETH

REX MACBETH

Rex Macbeth had a way with words,
Writing poetry with ease,
He wrote hundreds of poems for R & R Tire,
Radio ads in his own voice.

Rex Macbeth loved the Old West,
Outlaws like Frank and Jes-se,
His oratory of the James-Younger gang,
Brought it to life for me.

Rex loved the guns of yesteryear,
He knew them all by heart,
He bought and sold them every day,
Each had a story he would impart.

Rex had fun with cars and guns,
He loved his family too,
He will be missed by young and old,
Our Poet/Historian is now western lore.

May God bless his family as they mourn,
May He bless Rex’s memory,
Let’s not forget, life is very short,
Our time of grace, may soon flee.

Nyakobo

NYAKOBO

A pretty girl, of Sudanese descent,
Her love for Jesus, is evident!
Her smile is precious, bright and pure,
Her polio, she has endured.

NyaKobo is sure a great delight,
She loves to sing, her art is great,
She used to like math, now she don’t,
She loves lanquage, bi-lingual, well spoke.

Nya Kobo inspires, all she knows,
Her friendly personality, really shows,
I will always treasure, knowing her,
I look forward to sharing, our eternal treasure.

Jesus, please bless, Nya Kobo today,
Keep her near her Lord, I pray,
Teach her about Your great love for her,
This Easter morning, her risen Savior!

EVERY SOUL A TREASURE

The WELS Convention
Has a theme,
Every Soul A Treasure,
President Gurgel urged us all,
To practice this new measure.

When we see a Sudanese,
Or Somalian in our midst,
We should care for his soul,
Share the Gospel first.

When we see a Vietnamese,
In our neighborhood,
We should treasure his very soul,
just as Jesus would.

When we see a homeless man,
That is down and out,
We should find a way to help,
His life may turn about.

When God puts souls before us,
We now know what to do,
Treasure them like your very own,
He will show you how, I know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Go to the Lord each morning,
Asking Him in prayer,
What He has in mind for you,
Believing, without fear.

God will surely show you,
The path that you should trod.
A 2007 roadmap, just for you,
From the hand of God.

Some call it fate, when life gives,
Trouble or success,
I know another answer,
God chooses whom to bless.

So lift your heads, dear Christians,
Look to Him above.
He has a great year planned for you,
Just trust His heavenly love.
